New Drugs
BKL carries out projects beyond its branded products and services, thanks to its know-how and that of its collaborators. This line of research addresses one of the current health challenges: the search for new and more effective compounds and drugs to combat the diseases we face today.
Currently, we are working on the project entitled “Bioprospection of extreme environments of the Andalusian Atlantic coast for the isolation of new bioactive compounds with antioxidant and antitumor activity”. In this first phase, in collaboration with researchers from the Universities of Huelva and Granada and with the co-financing of these institutions, our company and the CEI·MAR foundation, we are searching for new compounds derived from microalgae that show efficacy against colon cancer.
